The cushion cover has Greenlandic sealskin on the front and a back that matches the colour of the sealskin beautifully.

You get a beautiful decorative cushion that is soft, glossy and hard to keep your fingers off.
The back is of robust, hard-wearing, dark fabric.
The cushion closes with a zip on the back.

Good to know about coloured sealskin:
There are no black, red, green or blue seals in the sea around Greenland.
By nature they are greyish with beautiful dark markings.
In Greenland we love colours, and that is why we have found out how to dye sealskin in many beautiful colours.
Black is the most classic and elegant colour, which many people in Europe have also fallen for.
Red is loved in both Greenland and Europe for its clear, beautiful glow.

Care of sealskin
Daily use and care:

Let the skin breathe: Sealskin benefits from fresh air. You do not need to pack it away if you do not use your sealskin product every day.

When the skin gets crumpled: If your sealskin product has become a little flat or crumpled, you can make the hairs stand up nicely again by holding it over the steam from a pot of boiling water. (mind your fingers while steaming the skin)

Brush with the hair: You can gently brush the skin with a soft brush. Always remember to brush with the direction of the hair (from root to tip).
Water and stains – When accidents happen:

Wet sealskin: Caught in a rain shower? Don’t worry! Shake off the excess water and let the skin dry naturally at room temperature.

Minor stains: Gently wipe with a firmly wrung-out, soft cloth with lukewarm water. Always wipe with in the direction of the hair growth.
What you should avoid

No direct heat: Do not place sealskin on a radiator, close to a wood-burning stove or under a hairdryer. Direct heat dries out the leather back so it becomes stiff and brittle.

Avoid chemicals and soap: Never use stain remover, chemicals or household soap on the skin.

No airtight plastic: Do not store your sealskin in airtight plastic bags. Instead choose a cloth bag or put it in a dark place, so the skin can breathe.

Generations-long durability: The leather under the fur is incredibly hard-wearing. If you take care of it and let it dry at room temperature (never on the radiator!), a sealskin product can easily be passed on to the next generation.
- Love of easy care: Sealskin is surprisingly easy to keep. If it gets wet, simply let it dry at room temperature and brush it gently through with in the direction of the hair – and the fur gleams again.
