Colour:
Natural sealskin with a fine dark leather edge as a finish.
Sizes and Dimensions:
This is the small model of the snowmobile mittens with the long cuffs.
A small size = One Size
That is, they fit a teenager’s hand or a small woman’s hand = size Small – Medium.

Lining:
Inside, the mittens are lined with thick, soft wool lining, also called polar fleece.
It is soft and lovely to put your hands into a mitten lined with that kind of fleece.
The palm:
The palms of the mittens and the inside of the thumb are made of soft, black suede.
Closure:
There is elastic at the wrist, so the mittens sit snugly around the wrist.
The long cuff of the mittens neatly covers the small opening that is always between the jacket sleeve and gloves.
That way the cold cannot sneak in on the body.
Incidentally:
In Greenland these mittens are called “Snowmobile mittens”.

Care of sealskin
Daily use and care:

Let the skin breathe: Sealskin benefits from fresh air. You do not need to pack it away if you do not use your sealskin product every day.

When the skin gets crumpled: If your sealskin product has become a little flat or crumpled, you can make the hairs stand up nicely again by holding it over the steam from a pot of boiling water. (mind your fingers while steaming the skin)

Brush with the hair: You can gently brush the skin with a soft brush. Always remember to brush with the direction of the hair (from root to tip).
Water and stains – When accidents happen:

Wet sealskin: Caught in a rain shower? Don’t worry! Shake off the excess water and let the skin dry naturally at room temperature.

Minor stains: Gently wipe with a firmly wrung-out, soft cloth with lukewarm water. Always wipe with in the direction of the hair growth.
What you should avoid

No direct heat: Do not place sealskin on a radiator, close to a wood-burning stove or under a hairdryer. Direct heat dries out the leather back so it becomes stiff and brittle.

Avoid chemicals and soap: Never use stain remover, chemicals or household soap on the skin.

No airtight plastic: Do not store your sealskin in airtight plastic bags. Instead choose a cloth bag or put it in a dark place, so the skin can breathe.
