Colours:
sewn in natural sealskin from a harp or ringed seal
Both sealskins have beautiful markings on the skin.
Lining:
Inside, the mittens are lined with thick, soft polar fleece.
The palm:
The palms of the mittens are made of soft, black skin.
This gives you a good grip on e.g. the bicycle handlebars or the steering wheel of the car.
The fur trim:
The fur trim is arctic fox.
There are almost as many foxes in Greenland as there are seals in the sea around Greenland.
The hunters receive an amount from the municipality for every fox they catch.

Between the sealskin and the black lining a soft layer of interlining has been placed, which gives extra good protection against the cold – and it feels nice to wear.

Care of sealskin
Daily use and care:

Let the skin breathe: Sealskin benefits from fresh air. You do not need to pack it away if you do not use your sealskin product every day.

When the skin gets crumpled: If your sealskin product has become a little flat or crumpled, you can make the hairs stand up nicely again by holding it over the steam from a pot of boiling water. (mind your fingers while steaming the skin)

Brush with the hair: You can gently brush the skin with a soft brush. Always remember to brush with the direction of the hair (from root to tip).
Water and stains – When accidents happen:

Wet sealskin: Caught in a rain shower? Don’t worry! Shake off the excess water and let the skin dry naturally at room temperature.

Minor stains: Gently wipe with a firmly wrung-out, soft cloth with lukewarm water. Always wipe with in the direction of the hair growth.
What you should avoid

No direct heat: Do not place sealskin on a radiator, close to a wood-burning stove or under a hairdryer. Direct heat dries out the leather back so it becomes stiff and brittle.

Avoid chemicals and soap: Never use stain remover, chemicals or household soap on the skin.

No airtight plastic: Do not store your sealskin in airtight plastic bags. Instead choose a cloth bag or put it in a dark place, so the skin can breathe.
