The beautiful lambskin is tanned with consideration for nature and the environment.

This means that neither chrome nor nickel has been used in processing them.

Please note these are nature’s own colours, as they are not dyed to look better.

Therefore there may be a small spot of brown or black on the skin.

NOTE:

The lambskins are also available in brown and spotted. Ask us and we will find one for you.

Care of lambskin

Daily use and care:

Shake and air: Make it a habit to shake your lambskin regularly. It removes dust and brings the fullness back to the wool.
Brush the wool: If the wool starts to look a little tangled, you can brush it through with a special sheepskin brush or a curry comb with metal teeth. This makes the wool lovely, soft and airy again.
Humid air: Feel free to hang the skin outside to air in humid weather (e.g. in the morning or under a canopy). The moisture helps the curls and the wool regain their natural resilience.

NOTE:

The lambskin is tanned entirely without the use of harmful chemicals. It can therefore absorb moisture, and the back of the skin will feel damp.
Lay it out to dry with the back facing up. When it has dried, the leather side will feel slightly rougher.

When accidents happen – Cleaning:

Dry stains: Dry dirt can often be brushed out of the wool when it is dry.
Damp stains: Gently wipe with a damp cloth. You can possibly use a little wool soap whisked up in lukewarm water – dab the stain without soaking the leather backing itself.

What you should avoid

Do not wet the leather backing: The skin on the back should be kept as dry as possible. If the leather gets soaked, it can become stiff and hard when it dries.
No direct sun and heat: Avoid prolonged direct sunlight (which can bleach the skin) and keep it away from direct heat sources such as radiators.
